“So honored to be amongst all my kababayans throwing the first pitch at the Dodgers vs. Mets game for Filipino Heritage Night!” Soberano wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself in her Dodgers gear. “I was so nervous, but I think I did okay?”
The event, held annually, pays tribute to the vibrant culture, achievements and growing influence of the Filipino community in the United States.
The first pitch ceremony marked yet another moment in Soberano’s ongoing embrace of her Filipino American identity. Known for her efforts to broaden her horizons in Hollywood, the former Kapamilya actress continues to appear in both mainstream events and artistic projects across the US.
The ceremonial pitch adds to a growing list of international appearances for the “Alone/Together” lead this year. Earlier in June, she attended Netflix’s global fan event, “Tudum 2025,” where the streaming platform revealed updates and release dates for its most awaited shows, including the return of “Stranger Things” for its fifth season.
Recently in May, Soberano also joined the prestigious Gold House Gala during AAPI Heritage Month, celebrating alongside notable Asian American and Pacific Islander figures like Mindy Kaling and Chrissy Teigen.
The annual event recognizes influential leaders and rising stars who are shaping culture and pushing boundaries in their respective fields.
Beyond red carpet appearances and public honors, Soberano continues to pursue creative endeavors. She recently joined a unique multimedia project titled “Can I Come In?” described as a “podcast-cinema-documentary hybrid.” The artistic series is directed and hosted by Palestinian-Australian visual artist Sarah Bahbah.
