Fil-Am actress Sam Morelos shines in debut role in ‘Summer of 69’

Sam Morelos is stepping into the spotlight with her debut lead role in “Summer of 69,” a Hulu film that marks a significant turning point in her young career.
Though she’s only just starting to garner national attention, the first-generation Filipino American actress’ presence has been a refreshing fixture in the Filipino American community in Southern California for years.
She began performing at the age of six and quickly became known for her versatile talent. Over the years, she has shared the stage with the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra at the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall, acted in a variety of plays and even directed her own short film, “The Point.”

At just 19 years old, she is already making waves in Hollywood, and this film is her well-earned breakthrough.
The excitement surrounding the Hulu film’s premiere has been palpable. Morelos took to Instagram to announce the film’s release, writing, “Summer of 69 is premiering TOMORROW Thursday at 3:30 at the Paramount Theatre!! There is more than love in this movie and we’re so excited to share it!!!”
Her joy was evident, and the energy was shared by her fans, particularly those who have followed her journey from her early years in the entertainment scene.

In the post, Morelos also playfully expressed her gratitude to the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival for showcasing the film, saying, “Thank you @sxsw for letting us 69 you.”
The lighthearted tone was matched by a loving comment from her co-star Jillian Bell, who wrote, “Love you my baby!!!!!” Sam responded with equal affection, replying, “Love you more!!”
